FAQ
What do I need to bring?
All you should need is milk & nappies, we have everything else you’ll need including drinks and biscuits. You’re more than welcome to bring extra food or a book to read, you may also have a special outfit or teddy for the baby you’d like included in the session.
What should we wear?
You’re all a big part of the photos and I want you to look back on your images in the coming years with joy. What you wear plays a big part in this, I find that plain colours or complimentary colours are always a winner in your portraits, patterns and bright colours can be distracting so keep it simple.
When should I book in?
As early as possible! The sooner we have you booked in the diary the earlier we can plan your session.
How long does the session take?
We allow up to 4 hours for your newborn session, it’s somewhere between the 2-4 hour mark but I always allow extra so the session isn’t rushed and baby is fed and content throughout.
What if my baby doesn’t want to sleep?
Some baby’s take longer than others to settle, I always seize the opportunity if they’re taking a little longer to settle by getting some great expressions whilst they’re wide awake. After the many years of photographing newborns and having 3 children myself i’ve got a few tricks and tested methods that usually ease them into a gentle sleep.
Can family be in the photo’s too?
Absolutely, I allow time towards the end of the session for family photo’s including siblings. We’ve had grandparents, godparents and aunts attend too. The session can be quite long so I always recommend additional family members coming towards the end.
Where are you located?
I’ve got a beautiful purpose built studio at the bottom of my garden in Sompting, near Worthing and Brighton. It’s easily to get too and has lots of free street parking available.
